Today at Talent development we used Quicktime player to make a tutorial. I made mine on how to make a world on Alice. Mine was 2:36 long If you want to know how to use Alice watch my tutorial.
Reflection on the term
This term one of the enjoyed learning how to use Alice and scratch. The second thing I enjoyed is being able to make a lego mind storm. The one thing that I thought I should have done at the start of the term was the hard things like current events so that I didn't have to worry about them later on in the term.
Hi! I'm Hyrum and I'm a year six. I go to Enrich on Mondays. This blog is about my learning at Enrich. Our concept curriculum this year that we are learning about is . Enrich is a school for gifted learners. The four corner stones that we are working on is Affective Domain, Mental Edge, Talent Development, and Concept Curriculum.

What it means to be gifted.
This week it is Gifted Week. I think that being gifted means you think differently to other people and you need to be challenged. I like Enrich because I get to work with like minded children. I like going to Enrich to do things that we don't get to do at primary school. For example: P4C, talent development and a whole lot of other things. At Enrich I can do things that challenge me more.

ICT - Scratch
Today for talent development we started learning about the computer programme Scratch. We watched three tutorials on YouTube. It taught me a lot about Scratch. It taught me how to make a person (called a sprite) like that one above. You can programme the sprite to move, flip and turn in the direction you want it to go. You can add music so that it plays in the background as well. I used three pieces of music for my sprite character. On Scratch you can make games or other things. I made a slideshow with my sprite moving around.

Talent Development
I am doing robotics for talent development. Last week we filled in this sheet to make us think about what we already know about programming and what we want to learn. One of them is a game on Scratch. Someone made a game that we had to try and get the ghost. Today we learnt how to use Alice. Alice is a programme that you can use to make worlds on. One of the tutorials on there was about making an ice skater move. There are tutorials that tell you how to use the different parts of Alice. We have planned the things we are going to be learning about this term for our programming.
P4C
P4C means Philosophy For Children. We do P4C every week. Last week we were asked questions about friendship. We talked about somethings like what is friendship and how do you know who your friends are and had to answer if it was friendship or not. Some of them were really hard to answer because it sounded a bit like friendship but it might not have been.

Scamper
Last week at Enrich we did Scamper. Each letter has a thing that you have to do
we used shoes to do each of the things with.
S means substitute. We used it as a rugby ball.
C means combine. We combine the shoe and felts and made a penholder.
A means adjust. We adjusted the shoe to make a swing.
M means modify/magnify/ minify. We made the shoe tiny.
P means put to other uses. We used the shoe as a telephone.
E means eliminate. We took away the shoe and it was just a shoelace.
R means reverse/rearrange. We put the shoelace on backwards.
After that we had to use keynote to make something about what we did. Each group did one.
